Punjab has approved over 224,000 interest-free housing loans under the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme.
An additional Rs 60 billion has been approved to fund 40,000 more housing loans through the Bank of Punjab.
The programme supports eligible families building homes on their own land, while a proposal to impose stamp duty on its loans was rejected.
