Settled Nearly 200 Cases in Two Years, Prefer Resolving Disputes Through Mediation: Zafar Haider

Lahore | Riaz Hussain ReNews Pakistan Zafar Haider, a prominent real estate businessman in DHA Lahore and Vice Chairman of the DHA Estate Agents Association’s Arbitration Committee, said the committee had resolved approximately 200 cases over two years, involving both property dealers and clients. Speaking exclusively to ReNews Pakistan, Haider said he personally preferred bringing the parties together before formal hearings to seek an amicable settlement through informal mediation. “I prefer inviting both sides to sit together and resolve their differences through mutual understanding. I followed this approach in most cases,” he said, adding that such settlements also reduced the committee’s workload. Responding to a question, Haider described the Arbitration Committee as an effective forum for resolving disputes within the dealer community. He said the committee had consistently sought to settle cases promptly, with very few proceedings lasting longer than a month. “We received an average of 10 to 12 cases a week and decided them with diligence, integrity and fairness,” he added.
