Ch Asif, CEO Passban Group, Seeks Independent Observers at DHA EAA Annual General Meeting on 24 October

Lahore | Riaz Hussain ReNews Pakistan Ch Asif, CEO Passban Group and a member of the DHA Estate Agents Association Lahore (DHAEAA), has sought the appointment of independent observers at the Association’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for 24 October 2026 through an application addressed to the Registrar of Companies, Company Registration Office, Lahore. Dated 21 October 2026, the application also requests disclosure and verification of the membership list, examination of disputed constitutional amendments, and measures to protect a fair electoral process. “The previous AGM was disputed due to allegations of unfair practices and the passage of controversial amendments to the Association’s Constitution. These developments have raised serious concerns among members regarding the transparency, legality, and fairness of the Association’s internal governance and electoral procedures,” Ch Asif states in the application. Seeking the appointment of independent observers, he requests: “Kindly appoint official observers to attend and monitor the forthcoming AGM on 24 October 2026 to ensure that the proceedings are conducted transparently, fairly, and in accordance with the applicable law, the registered Memorandum and Articles of Association, and relevant regulatory requirements.” Ch Asif also seeks access to the membership list to establish which members are entitled to participate in the meeting and electoral process. “The General Secretary should be directed, subject to applicable law and the Association’s governing documents, to provide the updated and duly verified list of members entitled to participate in the AGM and electoral process. This will help ensure transparency, prevent irregularities, and protect the legitimate rights of eligible members,” the application states. Regarding the disputed constitutional amendments, Ch Asif asks the Registrar to examine whether the required procedures were followed. “In view of the disputes surrounding the previous AGM, I request that your office examine the amendments reportedly passed under disputed circumstances and verify whether the prescribed legal and procedural requirements were fulfilled. Any amendments found to be inconsistent with applicable law or improperly adopted may kindly be dealt with in accordance with the law.” The application further requests measures within the Registrar’s statutory authority to safeguard electoral fairness. “I further request your office to intervene within its statutory authority and take appropriate measures to facilitate a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, ensuring equal treatment of eligible members and safeguarding their lawful voting rights,” Ch Asif states. On the Association’s constitutional framework, he requests: “Kindly examine the Association’s registered constitutional documents and ensure that its governance and electoral procedures are conducted in accordance with the legally valid Memorandum and Articles of Association. Any disputed or unapproved amendments should be addressed through the proper legal and regulatory process.” In its concluding prayer, the application seeks action before the scheduled AGM. “In the interest of transparency, accountability, and the protection of members’ rights, I respectfully request your office to take timely action before the AGM scheduled for 24 October 2026, appoint observers as legally permissible, and issue appropriate directions to ensure that the meeting and its electoral proceedings are conducted in accordance with the law.” “Your timely intervention will help restore members’ confidence in the Association’s governance and promote a transparent and accountable electoral process,” Ch Asif adds.
