Jeddah based Falcon Vision Group has expressed interest in potential investments of up to $10 billion across infrastructure, construction, technology and several industrial sectors in Pakistan.
The development emerged during a meeting between Federal Minister for the Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh and a delegation comprising Falcon Vision representatives, business leaders, overseas Pakistanis and other participants. The meeting focused on commercial and investment opportunities available across different sectors of Pakistan’s economy.
Muhammad Tariq Ghous, Vice Chairman and President of Falcon Vision Company, briefed the minister about the operations of the Jeddah based diversified business group, which has interests in infrastructure, construction, technology and multiple industrial sectors.
He said Saudi investors were actively exploring opportunities in Pakistan and indicated that up to $10 billion had been earmarked for potential investments in different sectors.
However, no final project, binding investment agreement or transfer of funds was announced at the meeting. The official statement described the amount as potential investment that remains under consideration rather than a completed financial commitment.
The delegation included Zulfiqar, Business Head of Falcon Vision Pakistan, Country Head Dr Asmat Ullah Khan and Maqbool, who is associated with real estate projects including J7 Emporium in Islamabad.
Plans for commercial developments and the possible establishment of a Special Technology Zone were also discussed. The delegation proposed closer alignment between Special Technology Zones and Special Economic Zones to support industrial development, technology adoption and workforce capacity building.
A proposed joint project to establish a modern shopping mall in Chakwal was also presented during the meeting. Delegation member Colonel Jamshed said the project was being proposed in collaboration with Maqbool and highlighted the district’s educated population, university and human resource potential.
The meeting also considered a proposal to develop a Gandhara Club near Taxila. The project is intended to support religious and cultural tourism linked to the region’s Buddhist and Gandhara heritage. Possible investments in resorts and educational institutions connected with Gandhara tourism were also discussed.
Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh assured the delegation that the Board of Investment would facilitate investors through registration, licensing, approvals and other official procedures. He said Business Facilitation Centres were operating as single window platforms for investors.
The minister also highlighted incentives available in Special Economic Zones, including duty free imports of plant and machinery. He said Pakistan permits the repatriation of profits by foreign investors and follows a non discriminatory policy for domestic and international businesses.
While acknowledging challenges such as high energy costs and procedural delays, the minister said the government was working on regulatory reforms and measures to improve the ease of doing business.
Falcon Vision Group’s interest could create opportunities for Pakistan’s infrastructure, property, tourism, technology and industrial sectors. Its actual economic impact, however, will depend on the signing of formal agreements, approval of individual projects, defined investment schedules and the eventual transfer of capital.
