Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Tahir Farooq visited the Raiwind Tablighi Jamaat Centre to review road repair and rehabilitation issues along routes connected to the annual Tablighi Ijtema.

LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed and Raiwind Assistant Commissioner Rai Babar were also present during the visit. The Tablighi Centre administration informed the officials that the annual gathering would be held in November, while the assistant commissioner briefed them on the arrangements for the event.

DG LDA Tahir Farooq directed the concerned Director of Engineering to take the necessary measures for road repairs and rehabilitation before the gathering to ensure convenient access and smooth movement for participants.

The Natha Khan Link Road in Karachi is nearing completion and is expected to open to traffic soon, providing a direct connection between Shahrah-e-Faisal and Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab inspected the under-construction project on October 13, 2026, as work continued on the new route.

The project aims to improve traffic flow and reduce pressure on major roads in the surrounding areas. Once operational, the link road is expected to shorten travel times for commuters travelling between Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Karachi’s key commercial and airport corridors.

During his visit, Mayor Murtaza Wahab also reviewed progress on the Chakur Nala Expressway, a separate infrastructure project designed to improve connectivity towards Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Johar Mor, Rashid Minhas Road and Airport Road.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve Karachi’s road network, facilitate smoother traffic movement and strengthen connectivity between residential neighbourhoods and major transport routes.


The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is also undertaking several road reconstruction and rehabilitation projects across the city. These include work on Chand Bibi Road near Civil Hospital following drainage and sewerage system upgrades, along with reconstruction projects in Pehlwan Goth and the internal streets of PECHS Block 6.

These initiatives are aimed at improving road conditions, upgrading urban infrastructure and addressing traffic-related challenges in different parts of Karachi.


The improved connectivity offered by the Natha Khan Link Road could also influence residential and commercial property activity in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and surrounding areas. Better access to Shahrah-e-Faisal and key commercial corridors may increase convenience for residents, businesses and property investors.

However, the extent of any impact on property demand and values will become clearer after the road becomes operational and traffic patterns stabilize.


Despite nearing completion, an official opening date for the Natha Khan Link Road has not yet been announced. Commuters and residents will have to wait for confirmation from the relevant authorities regarding when the new route will be opened to traffic.

Former DHA Estate Agents Association Lahore president Talat Ahmad Mian has rejected the association’s annual audit report, citing what he described as multiple shortcomings.

The association’s annual general meeting, which will be the last under the current administration, is scheduled for October 24. Copies of the agenda, including the annual audit report, have been sent to nearly all dealer members.

In a joint statement with former director of finance Zahir Jan, Mian said the report showed a deficit of Rs 3.5 million but did not clearly explain when and where the association had spent the money.

Zahir Jan said the audit report had not been approved by the association’s cabinet and lacked the auditor’s authentication date and page numbers. He questioned whether the document met the basic requirements of an audit report.

He said every page should be attested and alleged that the balance sheet contained a clear discrepancy in the amounts reported. He also described the details of income and expenditure as ambiguous.

Jan maintained that the report had not been properly prepared. He further argued that, had the elections been delayed for three years, the association would have become bankrupt.

Both former officeholders reiterated their concerns over the reported Rs 3.5 million deficit, saying they could not determine when and where the amount had been spent.
