LDA Launches Major Crackdown on Illegal Commercial Buildings, Seals 124 Properties and Demolishes Unauthorised Structures

Acting on the directions of Lahore Development Authority Director General Tahir Farooq, the LDA Town Planning Wing launched a major operation against illegal commercial buildings, unauthorised land use conversion and commercial fee defaulters across the LDA controlled area, sealing a total of 124 properties and demolishing several unlawful structures.
According to the LDA, the operations were carried out in Jubilee Town, Gulberg, New Garden Town, Samanabad, Gujjarpura, New Muslim Town, Poonch Road and Sabzazar. In Jubilee Town, an unauthorised structure at Plot No. 539 A was demolished over illegal land use conversion.
An LDA spokesperson said 30 properties were sealed in Gulberg and New Garden Town for illegal commercial use, while another 72 properties were sealed in Samanabad, Gujjarpura, New Muslim Town and along Poonch Road. During a separate recovery operation, 22 properties were also sealed in Sabzazar.
The sealed properties included private schools, wedding halls, cafés, restaurants, food outlets, bakeries, beauty salons, pharmacies, grocery stores, hardware shops, clinics, automobile workshops, retail shops, offices and other commercial establishments operating in violation of applicable regulations.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner One Asaduz Zaman and Chief Town Planner Two Azhar Ali.
LDA officials said indiscriminate action against illegal commercial activities, unauthorised construction and properties with unpaid commercial fees would continue to ensure planned and lawful urban development across Lahore.

ڈائریکٹر جنرل لاہور ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (ایل ڈی اے) طاہر فاروق کی ہدایت پر ایل ڈی اے کے ٹاؤن پلاننگ ونگ نے ایل ڈی اے کنٹرولڈ ایریا میں غیرقانونی کمرشل عمارتوں، غیرقانونی لینڈ یوز کنورژن اور کمرشل فیس نادہندگان کے خلاف بڑے پیمانے پر آپریشن کرتے ہوئے مختلف علاقوں میں مجموعی طور پر 124 املاک سیل کر دیں، جبکہ متعدد غیرقانونی تعمیرات کو بھی مسمار کر دیا گیا۔
ایل ڈی اے کے مطابق کارروائیاں جوبلی ٹاؤن، گلبرگ، نیو گارڈن، سمن آباد، گجرپورہ، نیو مسلم ٹاؤن، پونچھ روڈ اور سبزہ زار سمیت مختلف علاقوں میں کی گئیں۔ جوبلی ٹاؤن میں پلاٹ نمبر 539 اے پر غیرقانونی لینڈ یوز کنورژن کے باعث قائم تعمیرات کو مسمار کر دیا گیا۔
ترجمان ایل ڈی اے کے مطابق گلبرگ اور نیو گارڈن میں غیرقانونی کمرشل استعمال پر 30 املاک کو سیل کیا گیا، جبکہ سمن آباد، گجرپورہ، نیو مسلم ٹاؤن اور پونچھ روڈ پر مزید 72 املاک سیل کی گئیں۔ اس کے علاوہ ریکوری آپریشن کے دوران سبزہ زار میں 22 املاک کو بھی سیل کر دیا گیا۔
ایل ڈی اے کا کہنا ہے کہ سیل کی جانے والی املاک میں نجی سکول، شادی ہال، کیفے، ریسٹورنٹس، فوڈ پوائنٹس، بیکریز، بیوٹی سیلونز، فارمیسیاں، گراسری سٹورز، ہارڈ ویئر شاپس، کلینکس، آٹو ورکشاپس، دکانیں، دفاتر اور دیگر کمرشل مراکز شامل ہیں، جو متعلقہ قوانین کی خلاف ورزی کرتے ہوئے کام کر رہے تھے۔
یہ آپریشن چیف ٹاؤن پلانر ون اسد الزمان اور چیف ٹاؤن پلانر ٹو اظہر علی کی نگرانی میں کیا گیا۔ ایل ڈی اے حکام کے مطابق غیرقانونی کمرشل سرگرمیوں، قواعد کی خلاف ورزی کرنے والی تعمیرات اور کمرشل فیس نادہندگان کے خلاف بلاامتیاز کارروائیاں آئندہ بھی جاری رہیں گی تاکہ شہری علاقوں میں منظم اور قانونی ترقی کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔
