Standard Chartered Pakistan has expanded its collaboration with EMAAR Pakistan by introducing its award winning home financing solutions to the developer’s real estate broker network, a move aimed at making mortgage financing more accessible for both resident and overseas Pakistanis seeking to invest in premium residential properties.
The initiative was announced during EMAAR Pakistan’s Broker Night, where leading real estate brokers were briefed on Standard Chartered’s home finance products, mortgage advisory services and dedicated customer support model. The programme is designed to equip brokers with the knowledge and tools needed to better guide prospective buyers through the home financing process.
The collaboration builds on the longstanding relationship between Standard Chartered and EMAAR and reflects both organisations’ commitment to expanding access to quality housing finance in Pakistan. By integrating banking expertise with premium real estate developments, the partnership seeks to simplify the property buying experience and encourage greater home ownership.
Standard Chartered, recently recognised by Euromoney as Pakistan’s Best Bank for Mortgages, highlighted that the partnership will enable brokers to connect clients with financing options that support faster and more informed property purchase decisions.
Saadya Riaz, Head of Wealth and Retail Banking at Standard Chartered Pakistan, said real estate brokers play a critical role as the first point of contact for many homebuyers. She noted that combining EMAAR’s premium developments with the bank’s mortgage expertise would provide customers with a seamless financing experience while ensuring access to professional guidance throughout the purchasing process.
EMAAR Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Aziz Jindani said Pakistan’s housing finance sector remains significantly underdeveloped relative to the size of the country's economy. He added that many young Pakistani families, both at home and abroad, have the financial capacity to purchase homes through mortgages but often face limited financing options.
According to Jindani, the partnership with Standard Chartered will enable eligible buyers to secure financing for homes in EMAAR’s newly completed The Views and Panorama high rise residential towers, creating new opportunities for families looking to own premium properties.
Officials said the collaboration is part of a broader international relationship between Standard Chartered and EMAAR that extends across several global markets. The partnership combines EMAAR’s large-scale residential developments with the bank’s cross-border banking capabilities, making it easier for overseas Pakistanis to access financing and invest in Pakistan’s real estate sector.
The initiative comes at a time when Pakistan’s property market is witnessing renewed activity following recent tax reforms and improving investor confidence. Industry experts believe greater availability of mortgage financing could further stimulate demand, particularly in the organised housing sector, while supporting long-term growth in the country's real estate industry.

سٹینڈرڈ چارٹرڈ کو حال ہی میں یورو منی کی جانب سے پاکستان کا بہترین مارگیج بینک قرار دیا گیا تھا۔ بینک حکام کے مطابق اس شراکت داری سے بروکرز کو اپنے صارفین کے لیے مناسب فنانسنگ آپشنز تلاش کرنے میں مدد ملے گی، جس سے پراپرٹی کی خریداری سے متعلق فیصلے زیادہ تیزی اور بہتر معلومات کی بنیاد پر کیے جا سکیں گے۔
سٹینڈرڈ چارٹرڈ پاکستان کی ہیڈ آف ویلتھ اینڈ ریٹیل بینکنگ سعدیہ ریاض نے کہا کہ رئیل اسٹیٹ بروکرز اکثر گھر خریدنے والے افراد کے لیے پہلے قابل اعتماد مشیر کا کردار ادا کرتے ہیں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ اعمار کے پریمیم رئیل اسٹیٹ منصوبوں کو سٹینڈرڈ چارٹرڈ کی مارگیج مہارت کے ساتھ جوڑنے سے صارفین کو گھر کی خریداری اور فنانسنگ کے دوران ایک آسان، شفاف اور مؤثر تجربہ فراہم کیا جا سکے گا۔
اعمار پاکستان کے چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر عزیز جندانی نے کہا کہ پاکستان میں ہاؤسنگ فنانس کا حجم ملکی مجموعی قومی پیداوار کے مقابلے میں انتہائی کم ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان اور بیرون ملک مقیم بہت سے نوجوان خاندان مارگیج کے ذریعے گھر خریدنے کی مالی صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں، تاہم انہیں مناسب مالیاتی ادارہ اور قابل اعتماد فنانسنگ پارٹنر تلاش کرنے میں مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے۔
عزیز جندانی کے مطابق سٹینڈرڈ چارٹرڈ کی ہوم فنانس سہولت کے ذریعے اہل خریدار اعمار کے نئے تعمیر شدہ بلند و بالا رہائشی منصوبوں 'دی ویوز' اور 'پینوراما' میں اپنے گھروں کی خریداری کے لیے فنانسنگ حاصل کر سکیں گے۔
حکام کے مطابق اسٹینڈرڈ چارٹرڈ اور اعمار کے درمیان یہ تعاون دونوں اداروں کے عالمی سطح پر موجود کاروباری تعلقات کا حصہ ہے، جو مختلف بین الاقوامی منڈیوں تک پھیلا ہوا ہے۔
اس شراکت داری میں اعمار کے عالمی معیار کے رہائشی منصوبوں کو اسٹینڈرڈ چارٹرڈ کی سرحد پار بینکاری سہولیات اور فنانسنگ مہارت کے ساتھ منسلک کیا گیا ہے، جس سے بیرون ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں کے لیے پاکستان میں جائیداد خریدنا اور فنانسنگ حاصل کرنا نسبتاً آسان ہو سکتا ہے۔

The Government of Sindh has awarded four major infrastructure development projects worth approximately PKR 8.5 billion to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) as part of its broader strategy to improve Karachi's road network, ease traffic congestion, and enhance connectivity across the metropolitan city.
According to official details reported by Geo News, construction on three of the approved projects is expected to commence in August 2026. The initiatives include the construction of new flyovers, the upgrading of key traffic intersections, and the rehabilitation of an important urban road corridor aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing travel times.
One of the flagship projects involves the construction of a flyover interchange near the Northern Bypass on the M-9 Motorway, which is expected to significantly improve connectivity between different parts of Karachi while reducing congestion on one of the city's busiest transport routes. Since the proposed structure will cross the motorway, the Sindh Local Government Department has initiated the process of obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the National Highway Authority (NHA) before construction begins. The project carries an estimated cost of PKR 2.3 billion.
Another major development includes the construction of a flyover at the intersection of Abul Hasan Isphahani Road and the area opposite Al-Asif Square on the M-9 Motorway. Estimated to cost around PKR 2.1 billion, the project is designed to improve traffic movement from multiple directions and eliminate bottlenecks at one of Karachi's busiest intersections.
In addition to the flyover projects, the provincial government has approved the rehabilitation and upgradation of Hawksbay Road, a key route connecting the city with coastal areas and industrial zones. The road improvement project, valued at approximately PKR 4.162 billion, is also scheduled to begin in August and is expected to enhance road safety, improve transport efficiency, and support economic activity in surrounding areas.
Officials believe these infrastructure investments will play an important role in modernizing Karachi's transport network, reducing traffic congestion, improving commuting conditions for residents, and strengthening the city's long-term urban mobility. The projects also reflect the Sindh government's continued focus on expanding critical infrastructure to accommodate the growing transportation needs of Pakistan's largest city.

سندھ حکومت نے کراچی میں سڑکوں کے نظام کو بہتر بنانے، ٹریفک کے دباؤ میں کمی لانے اور شہر کے مختلف علاقوں کے درمیان رابطہ مضبوط کرنے کے لیے تقریباً 8.5 ارب روپے مالیت کے چار بڑے انفراسٹرکچر منصوبے فرنٹیئر ورکس آرگنائزیشن (ایف ڈبلیو او) کے حوالے کر دیے ہیں۔
رپورٹ کے مطابق ان میں سے تین منصوبوں پر تعمیراتی کام اگست 2026 میں شروع ہونے کی توقع ہے۔ منصوبوں میں نئے فلائی اوورز کی تعمیر، اہم چوراہوں کی بہتری اور ایک بڑی شہری شاہراہ کی بحالی شامل ہے، جس کا مقصد ٹریفک کی روانی بہتر بنانا اور سفر کے دورانیے میں کمی لانا ہے۔
اہم منصوبوں میں ایم نائن موٹروے پر ناردرن بائی پاس کے قریب فلائی اوور انٹرچینج کی تعمیر شامل ہے۔ اس منصوبے سے کراچی کے مختلف علاقوں کے درمیان رابطے میں بہتری آنے اور مصروف شاہراہ پر ٹریفک کا دباؤ کم ہونے کی توقع ہے۔
چونکہ مجوزہ فلائی اوور موٹروے کے اوپر تعمیر کیا جائے گا، اس لیے سندھ کے محکمہ بلدیات نے نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی سے این او سی حاصل کرنے کا عمل شروع کر دیا ہے۔ اس منصوبے کا تخمینہ 2.3 ارب روپے بتایا گیا ہے۔
ایک اور بڑے منصوبے کے تحت ابوالحسن اصفہانی روڈ کو ایم نائن موٹروے پر الآصف اسکوائر کے سامنے والے علاقے سے ملانے والے چوراہے پر فلائی اوور تعمیر کیا جائے گا۔ اس منصوبے کی لاگت تقریباً 2.1 ارب روپے ہے۔
حکام کے مطابق اس فلائی اوور کی تعمیر سے مختلف سمتوں سے آنے والی ٹریفک کی روانی بہتر ہوگی اور کراچی کے ایک مصروف ترین چوراہے پر ٹریفک جام میں نمایاں کمی آئے گی۔
صوبائی حکومت نے ہاکس بے روڈ کی بحالی اور اپ گریڈیشن کی بھی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ یہ اہم شاہراہ شہر کو ساحلی علاقوں اور صنعتی زونز سے ملاتی ہے۔ منصوبے کی اندازاً لاگت 4.162 ارب روپے ہے اور اس پر بھی اگست میں کام شروع ہونے کی توقع ہے۔
حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ ہاکس بے روڈ کی بہتری سے سڑکوں کی حفاظت میں اضافہ، ٹرانسپورٹ کی کارکردگی میں بہتری اور قریبی علاقوں میں معاشی سرگرمیوں کو فروغ ملے گا۔
سرکاری حکام کے مطابق یہ منصوبے کراچی کے ٹرانسپورٹ نظام کو جدید بنانے، شہریوں کے سفر کو آسان بنانے، ٹریفک کے مسائل کم کرنے اور شہر کی طویل مدتی شہری نقل و حرکت کو بہتر بنانے میں اہم کردار ادا کریں گے۔

The Qatari liquefied natural gas vessel Al Areesh has crossed the Strait of Hormuz and is heading towards Pakistan after a gap of nearly three weeks, raising hopes of an improvement in the country’s gas and electricity supply.
The QatarEnergy managed LNG carrier is sailing towards Port Qasim and is expected to arrive on July 31. It is reportedly the first QatarEnergy LNG vessel to exit the strategically important waterway since July 11.
The development is significant for Pakistan because imported LNG is used not only to meet domestic gas demand but also to supply fuel to power plants operating on Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas.
Uncertainty surrounding LNG deliveries and the possible need to purchase expensive cargoes from the spot market had increased pressure on electricity generation costs in recent weeks. Higher LNG costs can eventually be passed on to consumers through monthly fuel price adjustments.
The arrival of Al Areesh could provide some immediate relief by improving LNG availability and supporting fuel supplies to gas based power plants. It may also reduce the need for more expensive alternative fuels or urgent purchases from the international spot market.
However, the movement of a single LNG vessel should not be treated as a complete or permanent restoration of supply. Pakistan’s energy outlook will depend on the timely departure of future cargoes and the continued movement of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important routes for the transportation of oil and LNG. Any regional conflict or disruption to shipping can delay energy supplies and increase prices for countries such as Pakistan that depend heavily on imported fuels.
Energy sector observers consider the departure of Al Areesh a positive development for Pakistan. However, they say the government must continue working on alternative LNG arrangements, strategic fuel reserves and domestic sources of electricity generation to reduce the country’s exposure to disruptions along a single maritime route.

قطر انرجی کے زیر انتظام ایل این جی جہاز اس وقت پورٹ قاسم کی طرف بڑھ رہا ہے اور اس کی پاکستان آمد 31 جولائی کو متوقع ہے۔ یہ 11 جولائی کے بعد اس اہم آبی راستے سے باہر نکلنے والا قطر انرجی کا پہلا ایل این جی جہاز بتایا گیا ہے۔
پاکستان کے لیے اس جہاز کی روانگی اس لیے اہم ہے کہ درآمدی ایل این جی ملک میں گیس کی طلب پوری کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ آر ایل این جی سے چلنے والے بجلی گھروں کو ایندھن فراہم کرنے کے لیے بھی استعمال ہوتی ہے۔
حالیہ ہفتوں کے دوران ایل این جی کی فراہمی میں غیر یقینی اور عالمی مارکیٹ سے مہنگے سپاٹ کارگو خریدنے کے خدشات کے باعث بجلی کی پیداواری لاگت میں اضافہ ہوا۔ مہنگی ایل این جی سے پیدا ہونے والی بجلی کا اضافی بوجھ بعد میں فیول پرائس ایڈجسٹمنٹ کے ذریعے صارفین کے بلوں پر منتقل ہو سکتا ہے۔
العارش کی پاکستان روانگی سے ایل این جی کی فوری دستیابی میں کچھ بہتری آسکتی ہے اور گیس پر چلنے والے بجلی گھروں کو ایندھن کی فراہمی میں بھی مدد مل سکتی ہے۔ اس سے مہنگے متبادل ایندھن یا فوری سپاٹ خریداری پر انحصار کم ہونے کا امکان ہے۔
تاہم ایک ایل این جی جہاز کی روانگی کو سپلائی کی مکمل اور مستقل بحالی نہیں سمجھا جا سکتا۔ پاکستان کی توانائی سپلائی کا انحصار آئندہ کارگو کی بروقت روانگی اور آبنائے ہرمز میں بحری آمدورفت معمول کے مطابق جاری رہنے پر ہوگا۔
آبنائے ہرمز دنیا میں تیل اور ایل این جی کی ترسیل کے اہم ترین راستوں میں شامل ہے۔ خطے میں کشیدگی یا بحری نقل و حرکت میں رکاوٹ پیدا ہونے کی صورت میں پاکستان سمیت درآمدی توانائی پر انحصار کرنے والے ممالک کو سپلائی میں تاخیر اور قیمتوں میں اضافے کا سامنا کرنا پڑ سکتا ہے۔
توانائی ماہرین کے مطابق العارش کی روانگی پاکستان کے لیے ایک مثبت پیش رفت ہے، لیکن حکومت کو ایل این جی کے متبادل انتظامات، ایندھن کے محفوظ ذخائر اور بجلی کی پیداوار کے مقامی ذرائع پر بھی توجہ دینی ہوگی تاکہ کسی ایک بحری راستے میں رکاوٹ سے ملک کی گیس اور بجلی کی سپلائی متاثر نہ ہو۔
