By digitally linking spatial maps with official land records discrepancies between physical land and documentation can be identified more efficiently reducing disputes and strengthening verification during transactions and development approvals. Geo marking is also being extended to government land riverbeds coastal zones open spaces and other environmentally or administratively sensitive areas. Once mapped these locations can be monitored digitally making changes in land use or encroachments more visible and traceable over time. In urban centres geo marked data is being integrated into planning frameworks to support zoning regulation infrastructure development and housing projects. Accurate spatial information enables better assessment of road alignments utility corridors public spaces and environmental constraints prior to project approval. In rural and agricultural regions geo marking helps clearly distinguish between cultivable land irrigation networks grazing areas and state owned land. This supports improved agricultural planning water management and the protection of communal and public land resources. Officials note that geo marking does not alter legal ownership on its own. Ownership rights remain governed by existing land laws revenue records and judicial decisions. The system functions as a technical layer designed to improve accuracy monitoring and coordination across land related functions. The TDF MagnifiScience Centre, on the other hand, represents a modern and interactive approach to education. Established as Pakistan’s first contemporary science centre, it features hands-on exhibits designed to spark curiosity and encourage scientific thinking among children, students, and families. The centre covers a wide range of themes including science, technology, nature, and human life, and has become a popular destination for school visits and public learning programmes. According to officials, the museum status is expected to enhance institutional capacity, improve public access, and strengthen educational programming at both venues. It may also support future collaborations, exhibitions, and outreach initiatives aimed at expanding science education and cultural awareness across Sindh. The Dawood Foundation, which operates both institutions, welcomed the recognition and reiterated its commitment to making learning engaging, inclusive, and accessible. The Sindh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has approved a landmark initiative to modernise the province’s land management system. The decision marks a major step toward digitising all land records across Sindh through the use of contemporary technology intended to enhance transparency, security and public access.

Officials briefed the cabinet that the traditional land record system has long been burdened with outdated procedures, bureaucratic delays and a high risk of manipulation. According to the briefing, citizens frequently face significant obstacles in accessing ownership information, while disputes and fraudulent documentation remain persistent challenges. The new digital model aims to provide direct and reliable access for every landowner through a central online platform.

Under the approved plan, the Board of Revenue Sindh will supervise the entire transformation process. The task of developing the digital system, including software architecture, data base design and implementation, has been assigned to Sukkur IBA University. The institution has been selected for its technical capacity and its experience in designing large scale information systems.

Government representatives stated that the digital platform will consolidate all essential information, including land titles, ownership verification, mutation records, revenue data and details of both public and private land. By bringing this information together within a single integrated system, the initiative aims to curb corruption, reduce opportunities for forgery and ensure that illegal or manipulated transactions can be identified more easily.

The Sindh government described the project as a decisive move toward comprehensive land management reform and a major step in establishing a modern and reliable framework for public service delivery.
