The initiative covers prominent urban routes, key intersections, mosques, and commercial centres in major metropolitan areas, including Lahore, with the objective of improving the functional visibility and structural appeal of designated public and commercial zones. These installations have been strategically placed to reinforce the usability and prominence of high-traffic urban locations.
Officials stated that the illumination of major road networks and commercial clusters enhances the operational efficiency of urban infrastructure by improving nighttime accessibility and supporting continued economic and commercial activity during extended evening hours in Ramazan. The upgraded visual environment is also expected to improve the overall perception and attractiveness of organized urban spaces.
Urban development observers noted that such infrastructure-based beautification initiatives contribute to strengthening the structural value and functional viability of public and commercial real estate zones. Improved lighting and visual presentation enhance the usability of public corridors and increase the commercial appeal of retail clusters and mixed-use areas.

The district administration of Kasur has formally established Nigehban Dastarkhawan facilities across all four tehsils — Kasur, Chunian, Pattoki, and Kot Radha Kishan — to ensure organized and dignified access to public service locations during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative has been implemented in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, reflecting the provincial government’s broader strategy to strengthen public-use infrastructure and ensure effective utilization of designated civic spaces for community welfare.
According to district officials, suitable public locations have been identified and prepared in each tehsil, with arrangements including proper seating, sanitation, lighting, and operational management. These sites were selected based on accessibility, spatial suitability, and their integration within existing urban and community layouts to facilitate orderly public access.
Administrative teams have been assigned to monitor these locations regularly to ensure operational efficiency, maintenance standards, and uninterrupted availability of services. The coordinated oversight is intended to support structured management of public-use areas and ensure these facilities remain functional throughout Ramadan.

Critical decisions have been made regarding the restoration and development of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor in Narowal, following damages caused by Indian water aggression and recent flooding. The measures aim to rapidly repair affected sections and reinforce the corridor’s infrastructure to ensure continued functionality for pilgrims, visitors, and commercial activities.
The decisions were taken during the eighth session of the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara Governing Council, presided over by Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs Dr. Sajid Mehmood Chauhan. The meeting included a detailed review of flood-impacted sections, covering land rehabilitation, road reconstruction, water drainage, and other critical infrastructure. To expedite restoration work, the council decided to convene a follow-up session within two weeks to monitor progress and ensure quality standards.
Senior federal and provincial officials participated in the session, including representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Planning Commission, Frontier Works Organization, and Punjab Home Department, reinforcing a coordinated approach toward development and rehabilitation. The council emphasized the need to fast-track both immediate restoration and long-term strengthening of affected areas, ensuring the corridor remains fully operational and accessible.
Dr. Sajid Mehmood Chauhan highlighted that the Kartarpur Corridor is not only of historical and religious significance but also serves as a vital urban and commercial infrastructure asset, linking residential, trade, and tourism zones. He directed that all flood-impacted areas receive priority for repair, facility restoration, and structural enhancement to provide pilgrims with safe and dignified access.
The session also included provincial minority affairs officials, emphasizing joint federal and provincial efforts to maintain high-quality amenities for visitors.
The restoration and development measures will ensure the corridor’s operational readiness, enhance the functionality and value of surrounding urban and commercial areas, and establish a resilient foundation to mitigate the impact of future natural events.
