On the direction of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, the Town Planning Wing launched an operation against illegal commercial buildings and properties defaulting on commercial fees in LDA-controlled areas. The authority said three properties were demolished and 24 sealed during operations across the city. Teams took demolition action against an illegal marquee on Canal Road, plots No. 248 and 150-A in Upper Mall Scheme, plot No. 147-J in LDA Avenue One and plot No. 848-F in Jubilee Town. Three illegal shops were also demolished in the LDA-controlled area along Raiwind Road. Seven properties on Main Multan Road, 13 in New Muslim Town and four in LDA Avenue One were sealed over unauthorised commercial use. The sealed premises included a private school, restaurants, a marble store, a hardware store, a food outlet, auto workshops, shops and offices. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner-I Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali. The LDA director general said action would continue without discrimination against illegal commercial buildings and properties defaulting on commercial fees.

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has appointed Muhammad Arshad, CEO New Lahore Properties, as convener of its Standing Committee on Real Estate Marketing for 2026–27. In a letter , LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar said Arshad’s appointment was intended to support the business community. The chamber asked him to constitute a 10-member committee within 30 days. The letter also referred to standard operating procedures for the committee’s work and provided contact details for coordination with the LCCI Standing Committee Section and Research and Development Department.

The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has sealed six wedding venues and arrested three people during a crackdown on halls and marquees operating without adequate parking facilities. The campaign began in the Aziz Bhatti and Shalimar zones, where officials said some venues were allowing guests to park on green belts and service roads, disrupting public spaces and traffic. An MCL team led by the Deputy Director of Public Facilities carried out an operation along Raj Bahar Road. It sealed Al Khalid, Abdullah, Al Fateh One, Al Fateh Two, Babul Wedding Hall and Shalimar Marquee. Authorities also lodged a complaint at Baghbanpura Police Station over illegal parking on green belts. Three people accused of involvement in the violations were arrested. Officials said the operation was conducted on the instructions of the MCL Administrator and Chief Officer. Municipal Officer (Regulation) Jawad Ul Hassan Gondal said enforcement would continue, with venues found using green belts or service roads for parking facing strict action, including sealing.
