Lahore : Riaz Hussain ReNews Pakistan The DHA Estate Agents Association Lahore will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 24, during which the elected body will present its performance report to members. The meeting will review work completed, measures taken to improve the association’s performance and matters requiring further attention. Members will also have an opportunity to offer constructive suggestions. Speaking exclusively to ReNews Pakistan, Information Director Chaudhry Tauqeer Asif said distribution of the meeting agenda had begun and most members were expected to have received their copies. Members who have not received the agenda can contact him to obtain a PDF or printed copy. He clarified that only chief executive officers of member firms would be eligible to attend the AGM. He urged participants to arrive on time and present their views and recommendations constructively to support a productive discussion on improving the association’s performance. Acknowledging that every institution has room for improvement, Asif said the elected body would brief members on its progress and highlight areas requiring further work. With election activity expected to gather pace after the AGM, he appealed to members to maintain mutual respect and professional relationships throughout the electoral process. Political differences, he stressed, should not lead to personal grievances or damage business ties. Asif emphasised that respecting fellow members and safeguarding business relationships were essential to the community’s collective interests. Maintaining these ties despite electoral competition and differences of opinion, he said, would help build a stronger and more united business community.

Lahore | Riaz Hussain, ReNews Pakistan Shahan Sheikh, a prominent DHA Lahore real estate businessman, builder and CEO of Shahan Associates, has said preparations are underway to hand over possession at his Smart Town Houses residential project on Raiwind Road within the next two to three weeks to buyers who completed their payments ahead of schedule. The planned handover covers two towers and would take place before the end of the project’s original payment plan. Construction will continue on the remaining residential units. Speaking exclusively to ReNews Pakistan about construction progress and the planned handover of keys, Sheikh said the project was launched with a two-and-a-half-year payment plan. Some buyers, however, sought early possession and completed their payments sooner to facilitate delivery. “We intend to give these buyers possession within the next two to three weeks, so they will not have to wait until the original payment period ends,” he said. Sheikh said construction of the remaining homes was progressing alongside preparations for the initial handover. “Our effort is to hand over the remaining homes before the end of their respective payment plans as well,” he added. Asked about construction quality, Sheikh said a ReNews Pakistan representative would be invited to visit the project during the initial handover to inspect the completed work and assess its quality firsthand. The apartment-based residential development is being built on land adjoining Etihad Town Phase One on Raiwind Road.

Lahore : ReNews Pakistan Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq visited the Nasir Bagh underground parking plaza, Outfall Road and Data Darbar to review development work. Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Abdul Raheem Sherazi and TEPA Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain accompanied him. During the briefing, officials informed the LDA director general that finishing work at the Nasir Bagh parking plaza was progressing rapidly, with overall construction 84 per cent complete. Installation of the parking management system, electrical infrastructure, lifts and cameras was underway. Tahir Farooq said the facility would accommodate more than 256 cars and over 500 motorcycles. The chief traffic officer said completion of the Neela Gumbad and Nasir Bagh parking plazas would help resolve a major parking problem in the surrounding area. The LDA director general also inspected footpath construction and roadworks on Outfall Road. Officials briefed him that the road had been widened following the removal of encroachments. Later, accompanied by the chief traffic officer, he reviewed traffic flow around Data Darbar and measures to remove encroachments and prevent illegal parking by Qingqi rickshaws and other vehicles. Relevant TEPA and traffic police officials were also present.
